Unfortunately, there are no part time CRNA programs and no part time nurse anesthesia programs available at CRNA schools in the United States that are certified by COA.
Being in CRNA school is a full time commitment and one that is very difficult. The hardest part is being a SRNA (which is a CRNA student) as you’ll spend anywhere from 50-70 hours in the program each week.
Part time CRNA Program
In addition, Inter American University in Puerto Rico offers a 40 month part time CRNA program. The full time program is 28 months, so being part-time extends the program for one full years.
Online CRNA Programs
There is one CRNA school that offers the first two years of the CRNA program part-time. The La Salle CRNA Program is 51 months of CRNA schooling years for a DNP degree. The reason for this is because the first 2 years are conducted online part-time while the remaining 27 months are full-time on campus. During the first 2 years, you are allowed to continue at your current full time CRNA job.
If you’re interested in part time CRNA programs, you may also consider the Murray State CRNA. Murray State CRNA offers a blended distance learning format where 100% of the first year program is conducted online. The second and third year formats are online for the core subjects and specialty courses in person. This provides the opportunity for students to work part-time in other jobs to earn income to pay for their tuition. In addition, the tuition rate at Murray State CRNA is very competitive as all students pay in-state tuition rate.
Finally, if you already have a MSN degree and are looking to continue your education, NKU CRNA offers a post-masters CRNA track which is entirely online. This DNP program is only 6 semesters long and no campus attendance is required. Upon graduation, students are awarded a DNP degree from NKY. This program can be considered as well if you are looking for a part-time CRNA program.
