#17 Best CRNA Schools – Texas Wesleyan CRNA

Texas Wesleyan – the university is funding their undergrad programs with all the CRNA program dollars. They return less than 20% of tuition revenue back to the CRNA program and there is underfunded faculty numbers. Students are getting ripped off. The program has a history of changing grades to maintain enrollment for the university. University has a history of harassing or firing administrators who push for student funding and student advocacy. There is no alumni support for program. Training varies from full scope to no scope depending on clinical site placement. There is also a history of tolerating inappropriate/prejudicial behavior at clinical sites because they don’t have the resources to find and/or attract appropriate clinical sites.
Texas Wesleyan University is a big program, but the personal connection with the faculty CRNA advisors are professional and almost one-on-one.
Wesleyan is one of the largest programs in the country (admits over 100 new CRNA students each year). However, their attrition rate is on par with the national average. The education will present the opportunities that you need in the future.
Texas Wesleyan – I worked with the program director, overall rate 5/10.For more information on all CRNA schools, check out Best CRNA Schools and CRNA School Rankings.

Texas Wesleyan CRNA Program Course Load
The Texas Wesleyan DNP degree program is based on a Front loaded course load. In other words, an integrated CRNA degree is one where clinical experience begins in the first year with both clinical hours and classroom lectures throughout the program length. On the other hand, this is different than a front loaded CRNA degree where the first year is considered mainly academic with classroom education while the remaining years are focused on clinical rotations. In general, there is no right or wrong method of teaching – roughly 33% of schools have integrated course loads in the first year and 67% are front loaded. Therefore, the trend of more clinical hours in the first year has been increasing in recent years as CRNA schools realize the importance of practical experience and knowledge sooner rather than later.Texas Wesleyan University CRNA Program Class Size
